My 61x needs more powa, what next?

It's your standard wb1 61x with a protec rec head (~170 psi), factory pipe w/mod chamber, and only one screen in the stock f/a. Solas top loader grate and a 13/17 concord round out the parts that add to her brapness. I also have the parts to do the cdi mod but haven't gotten the cojones to cut into that yet.

I've got a couple hundred extra in the jetski fund so I am wondering where would be the smartest place to put it if I'm looking for some additional brap? Porting?? Bigger carb and intake??? Or????

I did the obvious stuff and now don't know which way to go. Please be specific with any recommendations and remember that I am a frugal mofo... GrazzyAzz Amigos

My blaster is set up very similar, I am currently converting from single 44mm to dual 38mm to give it a try. The Blaster is set up more for low end punch than fast top end

701 Ported
Mod pipe
Ada girdled head 180 PSI
MSd enhancer
Riva groovy
13/16
stock cone
R&D scoop
Oceanpro extended nozzle >> made huge diff in handeling much tighter turns
dual cool
500 bildge
lighten flywheel
dakine footstraps >> great when jumping

send the flywheel to #.0 or trade him your stocker plus cash for a lightened one.

cheap mod and will give a little more bottom. MSD enhancer with that is good as well but a little pricier.

porting is another 2-300 might be out of the price range of your current jetski fund by the time you pay shipping and buy gaskets.

I am thinking enhancer, lightened flywheel, and sportport self port job. Hmmmm, wondering when this stock carb is going to be an issue???

sounds good... and will keep you within your budget.

a 44 will supply a pretty powerful motor without issue.

bigger carb does equal more air-more power though when tuned right. maybe that will be your next step when you replenish your jetski fund.

i put dual 38's with a protec manifold on mine as well like orangefinger did and it was a well worth it mod for sure. i had planned on doing a wetjet manifold and carb though before i found the mani for the 38's.

I would save a couple hundred more and get a pro-port job.
Best improvement you can make.

Just my opinion, but mods like a stock lightened flywheel, wetwolf cone, etc don't do it for me. Yeah, they may be cheap, but they're not worth even the little bit of money that they cost. I've ridden my ski with a stock flywheel, lightened stocker, and RAD flywheel pretty much back to back. No difference between stocker and lightened stocker, and nothing to write home about with the RAD.
Again, just my opinion.

I also wouldn't waste time and money with a sport port. In the end, you'll wish you would have paid for a pro-job. I know I did.

Who would be considered a pro-porter? Porting was my first thought, but I figured it would require a bunch of supporting mods. Bigger carb, girdled head, ect... No?

Talk to a builder and discuss options.
I had my bigbore build around an almost stock electrical system, stock reed cages, and pretty mild compression.
