Plugs are disposable, buy cheap! Buy in Bulk and toss em when they act up.
Dang I maybe change plugs once a year maybe. Have never had a need to change them anymore.

I'm not saying you have to change them frequently and certainly once a season is usually fine. Just that an extra $4.00/month is not going to hurt so bad compared to all of the other money we spend on these.
Those BR8EIX are iridium spark plugs and you can't even measure the gap without the welded on iridium tip breaking off. Not a good idea for the 2-stroke engines because of the excessive vibration.
I'd use the 2-Stroke racing plug with the solid tops if you're searching for something better than stock. They're made for racing and have a deep seated copper core with a wider heat range which is more resistant to fouling. Also they have the fine-wire center electrode which provides better sparking and enhanced ignitability.
