Whats everyone think

ok so this was my first time intalling foot holds, actually it was my first time fiberglassing. so whats every one think, just looking for some input for the next time, here are some pics

It looks like you didn't glue them in and glassed over some of the padding material?

I'm not sure I'd stick with that.

My method:
grind everything down to remove all pad/glue residue, wipe with a solvent to clean it, and scuff up the back of the footholds too
glue footholds in with thickened resin
screw them in to hold in place while the resin cures
remove screws and fill the holes with thickened resin
sand smooth and glass over the seams
sand smooth and turf

There are other methods, but that one is pretty much foolproof.

Also, what type of resin did you use?

If the black spots are where you sanded through to the SMC that's ok. By the brown tint of the resin I would guess that you used polyester resin. If that's the case it may not hold up very well. Epoxy resin adheres to the hull better.
Make sure to use underpadding in the footholds + a layer of turf for comfort.

some of the glue is still on there, but i sanded down were the fiberglass was going to go, i used resin and screws, then fiberglassed over it when it dried.
