Mounting a fire extinguisher with aftermarket hood?

Buckwild12

I'm moved by DASA power!
Any of you guys with aftermarket hoods have any creative ways to stash a fire extinguisher so the po po, which i am sure will be out in force this long weekend dont write me up. I havI a lowered hood with absolutely no idea where to put something. Im not super concerned with the practicality of it, just as long as its there. If my ski catches fire, ill first sub it, if that doesnt help, im jumping off of it. what a dumb law for standups!

I used a fire extinguisher cannister from a old SN and mounted it in the tray. It doubles as a front foot hold as well.

required: the extinguisher is to give aid to others in need, fires typically happen at the dock when first starting a boat

If you run a B pipe, you can wrap the ext. with turf and it will fit between the pipe/tank/flywheel cover. I use a small bungee strap to hold it down to the gas tank strap.

Got any pics Jett? I wanted to do that as well, but figured that if I ever did need an extinguisher, I sure as he!! didn't want to have to open my hood to get at it.

Laws like these always seem stupid until you find yourself in a situation where it would have been helpful.

2 years ago I had to pull my extinguisher from my Seadoo to put out a fire on an ATV in the campground. Funny thing is I was the only one who had one. Had I not had one, my buddy would have lost his brand new Honda Rincon due to dry grass wrapped around the axle. I keep an extinguisher in the house, shop, truck, and in every one of my toys, including the ATV. It seems pretty simple to me.

I second the having a fire extinguisher is a good thing. A few years back my friend's jet boat backfired through the carb and caught the boat on fire on the launch ramp. I was riding his standup when I saw the smoke, rode over popped out the fire extinguisher and poof nothing . . . it had expired and all the pressure leaked out of it. We spent the next 5 mins dumping water on it until a cop rolling by saw the boat on fire and brought over a good fire extinguisher. needless to say the amount of damage would have been way less if we would have had a fire extinguisher and if it wasn't for that cop there would have been nothing left of the boat
