After reading every thread I could find on the subject (lots of info available on the X!) x2Frank and I dug into it on his back porch.

Used all materials recommended in tech faq threads.

Holds are from tom21 to accommodate 25mm padding.

if you want to add a front strap while you at it, nows the time and I have an extra with a couple of extra inserts as well!

Yes. poured foam yesterday. That is some crazy stuff. It worked out well. But WHAT A MESS WE MADE!!! used way too much....

I am getting ready to re-turf and FFH, maybe re-enforce too.

I had water, but not enough to defoam/refoam. left the ski open for a week or so with the nose up & removed the lowest exhaust rivet and drilled a drain hole on the other side. It dripped for days. It dried out alot quicker once the cutting for holds was done.

Man I'm glad your buddy let you do that job on his backporch and help out with the epoxy and fiberglass and all.Thats some nasty stuff.Oh and that foam is some crazy stuff.What a mess that stuff makes

Well, today had it's issues.....
Took out the screws and there were a few spots where the epoxy did not bond. (operator error I'm sure) I only noticed it when I started to sand.

After considering the options, we decided not to trust the areas that "did" seem to bond.

We glassed chop into the voids and all the way around the job. This adds another day to the project. (12-16 hr set-up).

So no mat til tommorrow. Pics to follow:

It's setting up good.Do a little sanding tomorrow and we'll be ready to lay down some fiber glass and sand again then it's all turf from there.Well unless you get that hold from Idok then we'll go from there.Gotta see if Butti will help us out with the turf He rocks when it comes to that stuff.

and the non exhistant channel that takes you to the matanzas river.

I'm looking at the map the park gave me, comparing it to my blue chart and looking for the channel markers that it's showing are "supposed" to be there. so here I am dodgeing oyster beds and BAM! 3 inches of water on a sand bar.

this makes twice I've run aground in St. auggie at about 25-30 mph.

only this time it was in a boat. my poor boys wen flying forward and almost went over the bow.

Later I learned that the intake on a jet boat also works as a great way to suction yourself to the bottom in shallow water, even at idle.

I wont be putting in a Faver Dykes again.
