Wrist pin bearings that come with Hot Rods crank... Cheesy?

I discovered a new hotrods crank in my friends stuff and it came with some wrist pin bearings. They seem a little cheap especially since the box says made in taiwan. Has anyone used these? I would rather save $35 and use them instead of OEM if they are proven. I have to order OEM crank seals so I want to do get the bearing at the same time if these HR wristpin bearings blow.

The motor is a BB

supertune from team scream recommends the kawi 750 small pin(20mm) pin bearings as being better than oem yami's.

he should know, he uses them in 1000cc monsters.

Yeah, I was reading that here somewhere. I will order the Kawi bearing if it comes to it.

Chuck made a good point about wrist pin bearings being cheap insurance especially with a big bore.

Here's the link to the topic I started once I figured out what I was looking for. He said Wiseco's or Pro-X's are what he used.

Pro-x bearings, Wiseco bearings.? Let me suggest a reality check: most bearings are made in China or Taiwan- it's simply cheaper! Yam 650 and Kaw sm. pin 750 are the same: Hot products and others part # 50-3302 . They are about 1mm longer than the later Yam's. I have been using these non oem bearings for 20 years and never had a failure, I change them out when I replace pistons.

I have my Wiseco bearings sitting right here, package says "Made in Japan". I know China and Japan are close in proximity, but pretty far apart in quality I've found.

The Wiseco bearings have 16 rollers, and the old ones I just took out of my SJ 650 that has been bored (and bearings replaced, could be stock or aftermarket) only have 14 rollers. I'll stick with the Wisecos from now on.

I thought that OE Kaw and Yam bearings were Japanese, can you verify otherwise?

Most bearings including the cheap ones have to be harder than the made in taiwan wrist pins. I think most of the pin bearings that fail are due to moisture damage or pitting. The hot rod cranks are also made in taiwan and there is a good size disclosure in the box stating no warranty what so ever.

I have no idea! They do not seem to be marked.
Before bearings became so "global", there were mostly Torrington needle bearings-Connecticut- and they were clearly marked on the sides.
