foot holds/ paint

i'm looking for a how to on painting with a spray can? or is it not advised. if it goes bad i will get it done professionaly but i think i can handle it.

what kind of glue should i use to hold my foot holds in place instructions say i can just use screws but i'm gunna
glue it as well to keep the water out.

from what ive read if you glass it right you dont need glue. most use screws as you said but they normally pull them out, i just riveted mine in and glassed over it and just in case i put a layer or 2 over that.

I painted my 550 with krylon white spray paint. I wouldnt recommend it but if your going to do it its pretty simple. Sand and clean wherever you want painted and just start spraying. With spray paint you want thicker coats so it can level itself out a bit. Then you spray real thin coats the particles dry to fast and create a sand paper feel. Thicker coats lets it build up and smooth out as long as its not too thick it wont run. Ive ridden my 550 twice since i paitned it and already have a huge red mark (the original color) on my pole from rubbing the hood and when i pulled my 550 up on a piece of wood all i saw were white paint flakes left over. I think a regular paintjob would hold up much better.

and i think most guys use pop rivets to hold the foot holds into place then layer the seam with some glass for strength. It wouldnt hurt to use something extra through. Maybe some epoxy then rivets then glass.
