Jetski Solutions Start/Stop Switch

I need a new start/stop switch. The wires on mine got caught in the steering bracket, and it cut a wire. I have unplugged the black/white connector under the hood because with it plugged in, the motor will not start. Its not a big deal, but it won't shut off on its own, I lowered the idle so it will die in the water, but I have to flood it out of the water.

I guess the question is, does anyone have any experience with the jetski solutions start/stop switch? It looks like a plug and play deal, and quite a bit smaller than the stock one. How does it hold up?

Got it. Like it. Install required the special crimper that curls the connectors. Wish it had a tether, but there is no way to fit that type of switch into that small housing.

eh, just put some waterproof butt connectors on the cut wires.

Its not the wire, that happened after the switch started acting up, the switch itself is bad. I've taken the start/stop housing apart and cleaned everything a couple times, and its worked for a couple days, but its hard to take the hood off (even in flatwater) and disconnect the plug while floating in the lake.

Like big nose stabs may press it and shut the ski down. Just annoying.

And for the record I switched back to brand new OEM. I didn't want to see my new hull do any of the things my old hull did.....lol.....like slam in to rocks and stuff.

Well, thats pretty lame and possibly dangerous in the right situation.

Sometimes on the OEM YAM start stop switches, cleaning them is not enough anymore. The contacts get burned down so far and will not touch the round plate and make contact. If you grind a little bit off the center brass post, then it can go down further and the contacts will start touching again.. Not saying that is your problem, but just a tip to throw out there..
Kawi start/stop switches are good too..

I run the jss switch, the problem is the buttons stick up they needt obe recessed so when you bump into the switch it doesnt throw your bendix into a a moving Fw or cut the ski off,I run the switch facing up and it still happens. Im looking for a kawi sxi pro switch if anyone has one?

i use old style pjs kawi switches on my skis.they show up on ebay sometimes nos.

recessed buttons,no lanyard and nice long wires that can be wired directly into the e-box(great for salt water)

id like to have a lanyard back in a pinch, the sxi pro is the only one I know of with both start and stop sitting side by side with a lanyard, any other kawi ski switches like this

Had JSS re do my whole e box a couple years back. John is a nice guy and does awsome work. I actually just had them remanufacture my OEM start stop switch and installed it this past weekend. He does great work.
