Stock fx-1 to freestyle?

If im on a budget where should i start? Also i dont want any major projects since the season is just starting. But anything i can take the ski home and install in a day or two is great. Also, do most sj parts fit on a fx1 or are they different?

The engines are the same so most engine mods will swap right over. You'll need to do your homework on hull mods though because some are interchangeable and some aren't. A factory pipe with an FX1 chamber will be your best bet. Total loss is also a great performance improvement. I'd say ride the crap out of it until you feel like you need more and then upgrade. Don't upgrade too early.

Change out the bars for some 0 degree, shorten the pole, get all the steering throw you can out of it, and put a decent prop in it and figure out how to keep your feet in the tray.

Then go ride it and dont worry about more mods for a while. And don't go head long in to a pump swap right off the bat. You will be far better off if you spend the majority of your time on the water with the boat instead of working on it.

True. They take some time to learn how to stay on the squirly hull. But a helll of a fun ride.

no offense but recommending total loss to someone just getting into the sport or dosnt have allot of experience with skis is not very good advise..when your starting out you want a ski that is reliable, not something that is going to make u frustrated because it never runs..keep it simple..most people cant even properly utilize the power of a ski with minimal mods..more power dosnt make u a better rider.. what ross covered will be sufficient...ive had a stock motor with a pipe and enhancer in my ski now for a few months..thats all you really need although im excited to get my new ported motor in the mail tomarrow! :biggthumpup:
