to add another Question, when setuping an x2 for surf riding what else should be done/modified, or bought and what parts are best.... what do most people do with the trim kit, keep/modify

as far as ride plates, idk between the two, most of us cut the back of the hull down and d-cut the stock plate. which brings the answer to the trim question, w/ the stock plate d-cut we keep em and you can modify the stock trim lever, or check out x-2guy or madscientists aftermarket trim system. Whats the pitch on the Solas prop? im running an sxr prop done by impros w/ 12/17 pitch

an extended ride plate is for racing it keeps the nose of the ski down. the whole point of cutting the back of the ski off is to lift the nose so when you go to jump a wave or wake you don't stab throw it.

I highly doub't you are going to have that problem while jumping. I have never had a problem with the nose stabbing on a stock length hull while jumping.

The purpose of shortening the hull I know of is to improve turning and keeping the nose up slashing. The nose will dig in when turning aggressivly or after slashing the wave (the wave lifts the back and the nose digs in).

I didn't have either of those problem after the nose fill and the Tom21 tubbies. Only had one ride though, so we'll see tomorrow if it continues to hold true.

It seems some of my questions i thought would have obvious answers dont..... Ok the D cut into the stock ride plate make sence... Has anyone not chopped the hulll but cut the D section in???

dont worry about the trim right now
tubbies
shortened hull
d cut
15 skat trac prop, or the one you mentioned but there is a lot of cheap 15"s out there

a cheap and great surf ski that handles 10 times better than a stock x2 , which by the way i cant stand riding , i have the above on my ski and handles great, the tubbies is a must

I totally agree with cattledog. But you can def run your 8/16. Thats a good all around prop for a 650.
