run synthetic 40 or 35-1 i blew mine up a few months ago had been running it lean with yamalube 50-1 on a high speed run. costs 800+ for new top end. kinda sucks but wear item i guess. mixture both oil gas and tuning is huge.

If you paid 800 bucks for a new top end,i'd say you got robbed!

Furthermore, how do you know that running Yamalube 50:1 caused your engine to blow?

With the higher compression do i change my Oil/Fuel mix?
Does it really matter what oil you use...im not thinking so...

If you have a high dollar motor, you might treat it with high-dollar oil.

There is a difference.

That's what my builder recommends.
I use Amsoil Dominator.

I've used Amsoil Interceptor in the past on a Seadoo ski with good results.

So to recap as long as your mix is 50:1(with good quality oil) and im jetted properly you should run all summer with out a bump

Use a good quality oil.

Jetworks recommended I run my bigbore with Amsoil Dominator at 50:1

yup - good oil and a properly tuned motor and you will have no problems.

I also use Amsoil Domindator... I love the stuff. There are also a ton of threads on here that have gone through jetting specs for various motor setups. You can usually get a good starting point that way and go from there.

Im 2000' above sea level, i have read some of those threads too, but they are all for sea level so i really have no idea where to start

is it better to start rich and work backward or the other way around im thinkin im going to have to jet all on my own:confused:

2000 feet isn't that big of a deal.
Take normal jetting recommendations and lean them out a bit after you try them.

For the love of god start rich. If you start lean your engine won't last long enough to get it tuned.

Edit: As for the 2000' thing, our density altitude is above that for most of the summer here.
