Pro-tec half girdle

Has anyone run the Pro-tec half girdle kit? I currently have a pro-tec head which I have no issues with. After I cracked my cylinder because I wasn't running a girdle, I'm now considering one.

Does an ADA head/girdle kit offer any advantage over the half girdle? I'm assuming that pro-tec designed this girdle kit because only half the head is in tension when the pipe cantilevers off the side.

Thoughts?

Good to know. It's always a cost thing, you know how that goes.

The Riva SS ported cylinder isn't the pump gas one, correct? How is the bottom end on that? Is the porting that much different on the SS vs. the pump gas port? Reason why I ask is because I have the opportunity to purchase a stage 5 ported riva cylinder that was used for blasters before. I was going to throw this on my superjet.

Sold just the girdle or the girdle with the head? I think I may be looking for a girdle for my pro-tec if you know of anyone who has one.

Either that or it looks like it would be pretty easy to make one.

Pm. Katie she has one she can sell. I just need to get replacement cylinder bolts for that side of her cylinder because I left the protect bolts in when I took it off. Just did it on Saturday.

Has anyone ever made their own half-Girdle bracket??

from looking at the one Pro-Tec offers, it seems like it would be very easy too make!

Anyone ever make one? or have one for sale?

Yes, I've had them made from stainless steel. I'll do a run of them if people want them.

Depending on what it costs, I may be interested. I think GroupK is selling them for $165 which would NOT be worth it since you can practically replace your cylinder for that.

The bracket isn't the hard part, it's getting the hardware together that usually ends up being a pain in the ass.

this is true... for two coupling nuts, two long bolts, and two washers costs $32 + shipping and handling directly from protec... cost about $45 with shipping and handling. add the cost of another girdle bolt + longer 8mm head bolts and your already looking at spending $65 in hardware alone, if not more.

I have one on my ski. Looks great, and i bought it so it could clear my funky azz pipe. Works great and no problems. I have 34cc domes and i bought the head, new domes, new o rings, hardware, pretty much a perfect kit on ebay for 100 bucks!!
