Did anybody hit the guy with cow bell in the head by the end of the day :smashfreakB:?

It may just be me but freestyle isn't entertaining to me any more. The big tricks are great and the power is awesome but freestyle has basically turned into a big air competition rather then a choreographed freestyle routine. Other than that awesome clip thanks!!!

Its the #1 fan(Nedra) with the cowbell... She has it every year... She runs around with it, not just ringing it in one place. She's the nicest person you ever will meet.

Now I feel bad :chairshot:. I dont know her personally but from her posts she seem great. Except for that darn cow bell :poke: .

Was that third clip of Rick Roy????????

Rok had one hell of a routine..I think it trumps Malones from last year...I like the sideways flat spins into flips. I still like Rick Roys old routines from back in the day..very entertaining.

Nedra uses that bell to cheer on the competitors. She is freestylers biggest fan. I have only heard it once, at 2006 Nationals. I will tell you, that when you are competing, you do not hear the announcers, people screaming for you nothing, heck, you dont even hear the horn signalling that you are done. But, you do hear the bell clanging for you to go out and give it your all.

DJ, I agree, the routines today are incredible, but, they are not "freestyle", at least by my standards...... But times change..


I post this same stuff year after year. goona duck out this time.

the FS-1 is impessive.

I was wondering how to bring that back up what happened in 2006 but since Chris started it...

Since my fun with the IJSBA the Youtube lawsuit has established that Scott could ask Youtube to take it down and they will. Looks like fxI found a better clip since his previous one. I thought the first one had already been pulled but it's still there.

Here is a non-related technical hint. :smile: There is a Firefox plugin called downloadhelper that lets you download movies from Youtube and other sites. Just in case they go away for some reason:

It was a special time way back in 2006. I had shot video of the WF freestyle as I had since 2003. Just my cheap camcorder but steady hands. Just saved the tapes and made DVDs for friends. But in 2006 I had my own web site. People in forums asked for pics and vids. I thought what the heck. I put them up big and good quality.

This old thread covers the postings of the vids and how Scott asked me to take them down. Oh yeah, plus about 180 posts with the public ripping him a new one:

Scott called me because someone had downloaded the movies from my site and made a DVD that they were selling on eBay. He had eBay pull the DVD and wanted me to pull the movies off the web. I believe he was concerned about it hurting the official IJSBA DVD sales. Strangely enough they had record DVD sales after people had a free taste. Hmmmm...

This is the first year since 2003 I haven't gone to the WF and shot video of freestyle. Kind of lost the urge around 2006.

It's a shame he broke his wrist severely while snowboarding and can't do that anymore.

Wow, cool, thank you! I just d/l the app and tried it on youtube. It d/l the vid to a .flv format. What player do you use to watch or do I need to convert it to another format? TIA

maybe this has been said before, but I think the reason freestyle is not entertaining anymore is the time it takes to make setup wakes, basically to do any arial trick you have to ride around in a circle. Remember back in the day not many tricks needed any setup so you could go right into your next trick. Thats what I have noticed anyway.
