quick question about new pipe

I just got a riva red pipe for my 650 and ive never installed a pipe before. theres a couple hoses that come off the pipe and i dont really know where to run them too? theres one small hose and one bigger hose that came off my stock pipe. im sure this is a dumb question but ya know.

Run the hose that comes from yor bulkhead to the manifold (2 into 1 portion of the pipe) The water runs from there up through the cylinder, then out the large fitting on the top of the head to the lower fitting on the second part of your pipe, then out the upper fitting and to the stinger with an inline T directing some of the water out your pisser.

Plug the little hose on the head, you don't need it with the red pipe, and do yourself a favor and pull the upper fitting to make sure the little hole beneath it isn't clogged.

o alright. i think i get it. but i dont know where the large fitting is on top of the head? im at school so i cant really look at it, but i cant really remember what it looks like.

If it's a stock head there is a 1/8" nipple you need to block and a 3/8" nipple you use

alright so is the 3/8's nipple thats on there now plugged? or where is it at?

the nipple you plug is the one that had the little line running from the front of the head to the exhaust right before it attached to the hose for the water box. so you plug the front nipple on your head. it is really small.

ok i follow you except ive got one more fitting that is down by where the pipe connects the the rubber hose for exhaust. and whats my pisser and the stinger?

The pisser shoots water overboard, the stinger is also called the tail cone, it is the very last section of your pipe that tapers down to 2" or whatever it is, right before the rubber exhaust hose.

Yep, I think your ski had one stock, or you could use something like this

ok i basically got it installed tonight except i cant figure out how to get the two middle bottom bolts that hold the exaust to the motor on? any tips. and also what tubing is good to use from the pipe to the water box, becasue the stock one will not work at all. ive cut it and done everything to it to make it work but i could not get it to fit in there right.

Use an angled end wrench like these: http://www.matcotools.com/ProductImages/SROEA11T.jpg a crows foot wrench may work too. I was able to use my stock hose, why won't yours fit?

I think the stock ex. hose that goes from the stock pipe to the waterbox is smaller in diameter on the 650 engines versus the 701 engines on the pipe side of the hose.

I have a friend who is the head watercraft tech at our local bike/pwc shop. He said that apparently you can't even order that hose for the 650's any longer. Yamaha no longer makes it.

i know the part numbers are different

i dunno. i trimmed it so it would fit and its like the angle of the pipe is pointing up so i cant keep it connected to the water box. cant i just buy some tubing somewhere thats the same size? does it have to be as thick as the stock hose?
