fire extinguishers are the law in VA. I understand that everyone doesn't have one & I don't know how strictly the police check, but I'd recommend having one.

If your ski can take a lanyard, you should have one. Thats according to the authorities.

I put mine in the hull by the tank, I wedge in there until I get down to beach and get saftey check. But then I take it out. There is a thread on this and I have had ex. come loose and do damage. More than once.
So I gave up on having them in hull. Ill take the ticket.

i freakin hated lanyards to.. i just started wearing it for the past three rides .. i dont know y i even rode without the thing it was dumb. so much easier when the ski just cuts off... i wear it all the way at the top of my arm so its not in the way.. only down side is having to put the focker back on the start/stop switch when ya got a 6 foot wave breakin on ya. that sucked

If you put it on your vest, it stay out of the way, for me at least.

and if your in Big surf, dont grab the lanyard to plug it back in.
Pull the little tag up, start ski, get the heck out the way, then slide it in...

The police were there in support of the event keeping swimmers and surfers out of the ride zone. I'm sure they'll be there again this year. If you don't leave the ride zone along the beach, which is huge, you'll be fine. I think 2 tickets were given out last year to a rider who not only left the zone (for the record, I believe the charges were dropped) but was too close to the pier and the shore.

the $35 per ski is just to ride at the beach for those 2 days?
or
is that to enter the EVENT and whatnot?

the wife and i would just like to ride around...and hut some surf there....i looked and read the website info....but it wasent clear what the deal is
