Boring?hmmmmmmmm helpful , YES

have you ever watched surfing on the x games.that stuff is BORING. the only reason i watch it is cause i drool over the waves
Is it safe to say you don't surf? If you watch the surf and think about how you can apply what your viewing, it can make you a better free rider in the surf. Not saying you have to like it. Sometimes progression comes from other areas.

Seeing nothing new done with the wave. "With"

:jester:[/quote
You could take a break from riding in the surf for 2 yrs and come back to see nothing new.I am talking about what you can do with the wave. not just use wave as launch ramp "trick" end. :wavey:

Really ? It wasn't being displayed on the water at Pismo this last week end.I know you can only do so much with that weak mushy wave. Please expound on what the best are doing. I love to learn. Respect!

the difference is there are plenty of guys that can bring their freestyle routine to the surf...there are allot of guys that can do all the tricks but there are VERY few than can use a wave to its full potential as well as do the big tricks..i rarely see anyone do more than one move on a wave..most guys throw a little spray before it breaks and then pull out...if you surf then you know the difference between faking a turn before the wave is breaking and doing a vertical snap under the lip when the wave gets critical..allot of people can even make a good picture but if you see what they actually did, they went out of the back of the wave...most guys are afraid to hit the lip...even the guys that can do all the circus tricks..good surfriding needs to combine speed, STYLE, wave knowledge as well as the big moves, not idle around adjusting their feet in their footholds until they find a wave to jump....and you have said you have ridden with joe...well then you know what im talking about..if you cant see the difference then i dont know what to tell you :dunno::dunno:

Hi , your not mad are you? I don't have foot holds to adjust my feet in. I don't know how to back flip or barell roll. The same moves are being done now as a couple years ago .Truth be told I think you can go too fast and miss part of the wave. Those waves were weak, I did my best to rope as many cut backs and hit the lip with as much furry as my weak old frail 45 yr old body would allow.I was the old guy with pot belly riding the sn yellow and black anniversary paint job. We can coexist and I have a new move that could be yours just for the asking.Jeff kantz X2 first to barell roll.Rick Roy the first to back flip.Riding the wave what is new? Nothing really. Congradulations go out to Ross Champion for doing something new!!!! Superflip - That's his to claim. By the way you started to hop me on 1 wave and then pulled out, thank you for that.

ahh thats you..no you have great style and obviously have great wave knowledge..(i rode with you in mexico before and was impressed..i used to have an old red square)....my whole point is that if you go watch people surfing at say rincon or lowers on a good day and there are tons of guys that can physically do cutbacks, off the lips, floaters, airs, etc etc..then you see guys like slater, fanning (top pros) do the same manuvers but there is no comparison between the two.... so basically what im saying is that its not what you do, but it is how and where you do it..my point is that allot of people overlook the wave riding because the guy can do flips, rolls etc..my point being that good riding needs both.....keep shredding, sorry i burned you on that one!!

I feel that IF YOU CAN learn to do all aspects(Surf, Surf-freestyle, flatwater-freestyle), THAN THAT is the BEST ATTITUDE. Not SLAMMING guys that do something that YOU personally don't like or CAN't do, or DON'T even attempt. Whining and having little respect for what others do won't get anyone interested in promoting some sort of X-games format. Way toooo much negativity/spitefullness!

not slamming anyone just trying to explain why i think it wouldn't work for the xgames..not enough guys can keep it interesting, not saying i could either!!.(like i said in my posts earlier in this thread months ago, if you were at surfslam you would understand, waves were good for the last day, all the top rideers were there and it was still boring to watch).....maybe a bunch of freestylers in a wave pool might be the ticket :261:

lol hey johnny i think all of your 45 post are responses to things ive posted
