yeah... this online community has really hit the sh*tter... If I was not promoting this freeride I would be done too...

I just have to keep reminding myself how much fun we as riders have when it's time to ride and everyone is stoked w/ hanpoles in hand ...and the keyboards are at home...

Its a cold weather thing. ;)

People get really bitter and snippy because winter weather has them not able to ride, and they take it out on the keyboard!

:lmao:

And I don't want to hear about how the season never ends in FL. :spank:

After thinking about it a bit today, Maybe what you guys do and what Im learning to do (To Freeride either surf or flatwater), Just isnt a spectator sport, and is somthing you have to actually get out on the water to do, to truly enjoy. That TV just cant do justice for. Not that its not very impressive to watch, you just couldnt fully get it until you are doing it ???? Maybe Im wrong just a thought, and I agree about the whole being behind the power curve with the other sports as far as being in the X-games and what not.

Also, at the labor day WFWA freestyle stunt show at clear lakes Konocti harbor (also staring Toby Keith and kid rock) we had about 10,000 spectators.
Flat water freestyle is where it is at! that is... Until someone proves me wrong with "facts"!

I hope that we all can do a little extra to promote the sport just so that it keeps growing. I am trying to get it set up so that a bunch of us locals can ride at the state fair next year. They have a freestyle ski show and a slalom course setup. I was talking about this to one of the promoters this year and was telling him that we aren't pro's but we can do most of the flat water tricks just not back flips yet and he was like can you make them go under water. Ummmm yea...

He said that most of the people that watch the skiing thinks it is amazing that they jump 20 feet off of the ramp even though that is super easy most people haven't seen that kind of skiing in person.

But like us... we all know what a sub looks like and we have all seen a barrel roll. But most of the people that would be watching won't know what to think if you hold a sub under for 10 seconds and the ski is still running when it comes out of the water. Wow that is so cool or a fountain that is high enough that the pontoon goes under. Most people don't know that they can spray water like that. You should see the people at the lake when my brother drives the pontoon under a fountain. You can hear them across the lake .... OOohhhh you see that.....

The X-Games could make it work. And people would watch, I don't think flat water anything is going to do the trick though. My vote is for surf all the way. They could just use some full-gaz videos for promo and so many people would be stoked on the sport.

Are you honestly going to try and tell me there are any flat water clips better than the surf riding video's they put together? The European Tour clip in particular.

People would watch that.

SO FAR CHANGE SUCKS!!!!!!
im not letting this thread die again... it can be done it dont matter if its flatwater or surf ... what the hell y couldnt be both? mx riders do the same thing every year except for that one person that is willin to risk it all to try something else to raise the bar.

Can we get some experienced input on this topic instead of everyone arguing bout if it can be done or not!

Maybe I have'nt seen it all. I love to learn something new.

backflips and barrel rolls dont make you a good surfrider..trust me i know what people can do
Really ? It wasn't being displayed on the water at Pismo this last week end.I know you can only do so much with that weak mushy wave. Please expound on what the best are doing. I love to learn. Respect!
