motor carnage part 2....(*^()%&%(*&

I am such an idiot!!!! I dropped a cric clip down in to the crank case when I was putting my motor back together and didn't see it. Well, it damaged cylinder, destroyed the piston, grooved the hole that the wrist pin bearing slides into on the crank arm and ruined the ********ing dome on my ADA head...

Soooooooo... I got 6 seconds of riding before it melted down. I am completely at a loss for words.... I have never done something so stupid... I have had so many problems w/ my ski lately... I am so fed up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will someone please come to my house and shoot me in the head???
Pm me for the address...

ADD at its best!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sucks Nick. When I put my current motor together I had some paper towels stuck down in the throats of the carbs to keep trash out. well, when I went to crank it the first time I forgot about them........ I found one piece of it, but never found the other..... dont know if it sucked it down in or it just blew somewhere in the shop, had misc paper towels all over the place.

yeah.... that was similar to what I did. The circ clip was up inside the piston wrapped in plastic and I didn't see it... I guess it fell out when I was sliding the wrist pin in there. When I started it, a couple pieces of plastic came flying out of the exhaust... I thought just a piece of plastic got in there... THe thing that kills me is I really thought I looked at both pistons good... Just so depressing!!!!!!!!!!!

I was rebuilding this time bomb 550 a few years back, guy brought me 2 of them, one stock the other had some serious port work. Well, I was breaking in the ported on, trying to get it right and decided to open it up some. guess what, yup, stuck a piston. Ordered a new piston that next day........

ahahahaaa,, i done that. Stuffed paper towels into the intake mani, but some reason before i cranked it up i pulled the carbs back off b/c i forgot to make the jetting change, and their they were just hanging out  since then when i get tired i stop working

Damn I hate to hear that. Something so small, yet so destructive.
Just relax, :439:, and think about it in a few days.
Sorry man!

Take some time off, put the ski in the corner and enjoy some other hobbies for a month or two, it will come back around. I've put quite a bit of seat time on the sumo this season (4k miles in 4 months) due to crap breaking and was on the verge of selling but I recently got my ski running great again and I want to ride more than ever.

exactly... I am so disgusted. I can't imagine getting on a ski and not running it directly into the nearest pier at full speed... In a few months I may build up the need to ride again, but right now I am ready to sell everything... Well, what I have not destroyed yet.. he he he

the year started out w/ my back carnage and no riding for 6 months... then continuous problems and my ski has been down for 2 months of the last 3.. I have ridden less than people in Nova Scotia this year.... ridiculous

are you sure??? I can count on both hands how many times I have ridden.

You want sell everything its in your blood now.I got some ada dome's if ya need them.I dont anymore..701/760 and flat top dome's all ranges and cc's.Ive melted so many motors from learning and mistakes.Set it aside for a few and jump back in on it..Sometimes it takes a disaster to get your mind right when building a motor.I fully assembled and tore my latest motor down 3 times before running it..
