I consider 5,000 miles good for a 4-stroke dirtbike engine. Of course, road miles would be way easier on it than dirt miles.
I have a DRZ-250 now and I love it, but I'm only 145 pounds. It hsd an e-button but my battery died, so now I only have the kicker (which is relatively easy to use so I don't sweat it). I know two guys with newer XR 250's and theirs are much harder to start.
Little air cooled thumpers are great in tight slippery stuff but they are always 25 pounds heavier than a $1500 KDX 200 that has 10 more hp. 4 strokes handle nice though due to the engine braking that sets the bike in the turn.
