SJ not runnig right only in salt water???

This is the second time I have taken my 91 superjet to the ocean and both times my ski won't run right. We made sure the intake was not getting water on/in it, no water in gas, and the plugs were not fowled?? It would run enought to hit one big wave going out then run like sht. It felt like it was getting flooded or choked but it wasn't. Whenever I pulled the ski out and flushed it ran fine. Anyone know what's up with my ski??

I never have problems in fresh water or when the ski is on the trailer.

PS
I broke my handpole so anybody has an aluminum replacement please contact me.

start with the plug caps and wires thats most likley where your problem lies

Probably bad plug wires is right! I had the same problem. For a quick fix, put a bunch of dielectric grease where the wires hit the plug caps and then electrical tape the chit out of it from the top to the bottom. It is DEFINITELY electric. To fix it right, replace the coil.

ps...to check for problems, put your ski in a dark garage, start it up and spray it with salt water. Whereever it sparks is your problem. (or problems)

Salt water conducts electricity like crazy!
