What chamber is this????

In response to my for sale thread on a B pipe, what type of chamber is this. I thought for sure it was Wave Blaster Mod chamber, but a couple people have stated it does not look right... I have never personally handled one of these chambers before.

Someone set it straight for me, what chamber is this???

I'm open to correction on this, but I believe it is a "2nd gen" 'Blaster "mod mod" pipe. The early 'Blaster chamber didn't have the flattend section on the side and had to be beat on to fit into a Superjet hull. I believe the later versions had this flat so they would be usable on Superjets also.

It also has the shortened chamber that has been cut and re-welded like an early superjet mod pipe . . . . . . this is what was called a "Mod Mod" pipe

I have never seen them in person but in there catalog the kawi 750 pipe looks alot like the blaster mod chamber. they may even be the same pipe with different exit hose but I really have no idea.'

it appears that this chamber has been beat on to get it flat, but I can't tell. It still rubbed a little on one of the ribs inside the RN hull it was pulled from.

I edited my post after looking at the picture more closely, I think it's a "mod mod" pipe . . . . . a shortend mod pipe. Factory pipe made these and sold them mainly for Mod class blasters with Strokers. They were never listed in their catalogs though.

This chamber will have similar performance to a TNT chamber without looking as cool doing it !


I don't know if he is a member here, but try PMing "Scottie Mac" over @ PWC Today for his input. He's a race 'Blaster guy and could probably confirm my suspicions. . . . . .

Yeah, the weld around the circumference of it was what inspired my comment in the other thread. Sounds like this might be quite a rare chamber.

Should be about 1 1/2" longer than the one Chris has. . . . . . . .


BTW . . . . . I am in no way degrading this pipe, it is perfectly acceptable for use in a SuperJet, but just like there is a difference in a Limited or Mod Superjet pipe there will be a difference in the RPM range where it makes it's best power compared to the standard length 'Blaster chamber.

Here's some pics of the one I have. I was told it was a Blaster mod chamber when I bought it. It will fit in my SJ with some mods around the gas tank side. It is 12 inches from the tip of the chamber to the water fitting for the stinger. This one does not have a weld in the middle of it like yours does. Let me know if you need any other measurements.

measure the chamber last night and the length from stinger tube to tip was 11.5".

So not sure why this chamber has a weld near the end of the chamber.


BTW, what are wave blaster chambers made of? aluminum?

Yours looks like stainless by the way the welds look.

WB chambers are stainless which is one of the advantages over the sj chambers.

The Raider chamber and Blaster Mod chamber are the same chamber. It looks to me that someone may have shortened this pipe a touch. I can also tell you than in testing, the limited, mod and TNT chamber can all be made to run pretty much identical by changing props/nozzles.

I just picked up a limited B pipe. If anyone wants, I will trade the limited for a Mod chamber, this one or another. If someone is looking for a limited chamber, pay Crocket for this one, and I will take his and send you the limited chamber I have.

I would buy with confidence.

Sure its not a old FPP chamber for the XI and XIR Kawi's form the mid 90's? They will fit a SJ or B1.

ive got a factory pipe chamber here for an xi and it looks nothing like that

at least i was told its for an xi... it looked like it would fit but i got lazy and bought a coffmans full exhaust instead of trying to make this one work with the couplers and whatnot

That one Motoman posted is yet another FPP for a Kawie sitdown. They had a weird headpipe nothing like the standard FPP head pipe.
