stripped ride plate bolt holes:(

What a noob
ok so my ski has three out of the four bolt holes under the ski stripped out and there is no way to put a ride plate on it....in guessing the holes are about 1/2 inch wide now....so if any of yall have done something like this before and could help me out that would be greatly appreciated!

or if you have an idea of what would be the strongest please let me know. thanks

try to use a tap that is the same pitch as the existing holes and see if the threads will clean up before trying anything else. Same thing happened to me on the pump bolts for me SXR. Used a tap and everything turn out well.

If the the holes where the inserts used to be are fairly clean then you're good to install new inserts. However, if you lost the rideplate while riding, you'll have huge holes in the hull from where the rideplate ripped off. I won't go into details on this if this isn't your problem because it's much more complicated. Let me know...

no the holes are clean....when the ski was new in 86 did they make the 550 with inserts already in the hull to bolt the rideplate in or did the bolts hold on right to the hull?

if they came stock with inserts what size do i need? i measured it but if i could just get some factory ones that might be better....then i would just epoxy it in there with the highest PSI i can find:)

do any of yall think i could use lags.... and put a lag screw in it?

there ment for cement but the guy at ace hardware said i should try it....but im not sure...with the lag seperating and everything im not sure if the hull would be strong enough to support the screw....

they wont tear the hull up as much as the lags will, and they will look good and be easier to change or remove the plate in the futer i belive
