riding without a ride plate

how would a kawi 550 ride without a ride plate?? my friend just gave me his 1986 js 550 but he doesnt have a ride plate....he thinks he lost it on the bottom of the lake but i think it might have come off during the transport from the lake back to the house....

let me hear what yall think!!!!

very, very poorly. most likely he lost it on the way home because he would have felt it right away!
