I put an aluminum bar with threaded holes for front and back footstraps in my ski. The front one is not quite in the right position for me but is somewhat ok without booties on.

Not a problem with these. I used some super high strength aircraft construction epoxy (about $30 a tube). They shouldn't come out. If they do something else is breaking first.

I thought butti's idea was great and virtually free. He cut holes in either side of the front of the gunwales down low. He either glassed or 5200ed a 2inch PVC pipe into the 2inch holes in the gunwales and covered it with turf. Maybe even filled it with foam, not sure. The placement was not perfect for me (too high) but I liked the idea.
Got a saved pic if it idok?

I don't see the need for a rear footstrap. I have a Highroller foothold in front and thats all I need. It holds me in for rolls, flips, and anything else I can do.

Placement of the front strap is crucial. I can't ride everyones skis with a front strap. I set one up in Europe, and it was perfect. I found it was right where I put my foot. My foot didn't have to find the strap, it was just in.
Know what angle your foot sits and put the strap there.

yes! place the strap around the foot, dont get used to where it ends up...natural foot placement will allow for the most balance/mobility
