SXR handpole issues

I have an 07' SXR that I'm about to put in the water again for the summer. I was wondering is there any way to make the handpole LIGHTER, or at least feel lighter, without replacing it?

Thanks

the sx-r pole is already really light

but blowsion sells a replacement spring that is tighter and reduces some of the weight

and a bunch of companies (ADARacing, for instance) make spring tensioners that bolt on in about 5 minutes.

screw buying one of those...waste of money, I made mine with some left over scraps and it works magically. I just used a piece of stainless that I bent 90 degrees, cut out two little wholes, used the existing bolts there by the spring to fasten it down and stuffed some pieces of flat rubber in there.

Also had a friend that just used paint stir sticks...cut them up, taped them togethor about 4-6 high then put them under his spring. Never popped out and cost about $.20
