My first sj got a few questions

see if that black hose isnt hooked into a bigger fitting than it seems... that is right about where the yamaha diagram shows that pump supply hose going... looks like someone hooks up a scrap piece of hose there... that looks like an old piece of fuel return line... you might find that fitting is a regular 3/8" id hose fitting down there...

I think you are right fox...the nipple that can be used for a flush looks blocked off already...whcih is right beside the fitting you have your waterline in from the pump hooked up.

if that black return hose is indeed hooked up to where the pump supply should go then hook the pump supply hose up there... then hook everything else up like stated above and take out that little plug or whatever that brass piece is on your head and put a 1/8npt to 1/8" barb fitting there and then put a 1/8" id line from that little fitting to the one on the blue YAMAHA cover you currently have blocked off....

can someone tell him if he is cool running the exhaust like that too??? I see he is missing some bolts on the pipe bracket that would normally go on the stock head... dont know if there are any bolt holes on this head to accept the bolts anyways... just trying to help this dude get on the water...

good observation...he is definatley missing some bolts there...

Double check to see if there are mounting holes under that bracket to bolt into...if not I have a feeling that head is on wrong...almost looks as if you rotated it everything will line up properly.

are you talking about the thing right above where he has the blue hose right now? the little silver looking plug that looks like you put it in with a flat head screwdriver?? if so, I see it then....

yep...thats what I am referring too...the last one I routed had this cap missing and threw me for a loop...if thats the case than the black hose that he has going to the "flush" is indeed the water in fitting....

Could this be it? Looks to be 3/8 dia. mabe a bit smaller. Pretty sure it is. The guy took the pipe off before i bought it. And just gave me the stock exhaust. Ill see if there are threads for that mount since that was already installed when i got it i never realy paid any attention to it. This was the way the guy showed me to set it up .

So correct me if im wrong but this is how i understand it now. The water in should be going to the inlet that was once my "flush" then the water is traveling up into the head and comming out the 3/8 diameter where it t's and goes into the 3/8 fitting where my "jet in" once was. Finally the t runs to the pisser. Then for the front 1/8 barb i can either block it or run it to the head if i buy a fitting. And finally my flush is currently being blocked by that screw.

That is indeed it, the line running from your pump needs to hook to this. Then a tee between the head and the other 3/8" nipple on your pipe. The third leg of the tee goes to an overboard pisser and like Fox said, replace that cap on your head with a 1/8" npt barb and run that to the little 1/8" nipple that has the capped of hose connected to it.

I edited fox's drawing a little, but I am pretty positive this is it. The nipple in the last picture you posted is where the "TO PUMP" line goes. You need to replace the cap on your head with a small 1/8" barb available at Some Hardware stores.

make sure you check your compression with that head... if you are running higher compression then you will have to run higher octane fuel... I would definately check it since the guy you bought it from didnt seem to have a clue! haha... the ski is much happier already with its new owner I'm sure!

also make sure you find out what to do about that bracket... I dont know how safe it is to run the stock exhaust without that bracket being attached to the head... stock exhaust is pretty heavy and that bracket helps get the weight off the side of the cylinders

stock is about 150 psi so i would guestimate you should be in the 170psi range but it really depends on your gauge...also don't forget to figure out your exhaust bracket situation, wouldn't want you to rattle the crap out of it and crack something.

And for the fitting...just take the plug out...go to canadian tire and compare, shouldn't be an issue finding one.

Congrats on the new ski...and way to go at finding one locally.
