Astral's fresh paint and 66e build

Mods this year.
66e with wdk wet pipe.
Home made motor mounts.
Cart Tank.
Gas valves.
Wdk girdle heads.
Fresh paint.
more to come.

Part 1. :paint

I started off by stripping all the old paint using aircraft remover(bad idea it makes a mess)and sanding..
I'm down to the original coating.Im using base coat clear and paint I had left over from my previous job.Any way after way to many hours or should I say weeks of labor im almost done with the sanding paint and color sanding..
I used nason 2k primer wetsanded with 400.
Black ppg 9100.
Alsa corp blue emerald crazer.
Alsa corp cobalt blue candy concentrate in the final clearcoat.
I sprayed 2 coats of black base,4 heavy coats of clear.
Wet sanded with 1000 grit 2 days after clear was sprayed.
Followed by 1500 and then 2000 grit paper.
Last I buffed with 3m compound and then 3m swirl remover..

I rushed the and it shows in the clear..The fiberglass was a little un even, but its a stocker who cares...
The candy in the clear gives the effect of darker edges and depth.
The crazer shifts color from emerald to blue(small metal flake).
I used plastic wrap and an air gun for texture..

Part 2 : motor

I got the complete 66e mounted and almost ready to go..
I used 2 steel 1/4 sheets on the motor mounts to connect to the motor,Basicly extend's the front mount out to meet the 66e.
This covers the original battery position so it will be moved.
The only thing that's not setting right is the exhaust manifold is sitting right on the bond line. The upright conversion plate is the way to go but I want to run this setup before I sink more money in it..
I found a 550 gas tank at the shop and Im using that for now..

There is seller on eBay selling plus to block off the horizontal neck on those 440/550 tanks. Look Up sweetemos or search "Kawasaki PJS"

If not Jet Ski Solutions is making filler necks to go in them.

I got the gas cap glued on for a block..and I'm using the old tigershark type fuel clunker's that screw into the tank..

Now I have to find a place for the battery..

Thanks everyone..
I found out where to put the battery...
Im mounted it over the driveshaft coupler using a sea poo battery plate and I tapped the coupler mounts and bolted everything down..I ran battery straps under the tray and bolted through them..
pro's = It was easy to install.Battery removal and inst is easier.Battery helps weight positioning to the rear and center..

con's= we will see.

Give me some input.. on this..??
