I found a couple by my house in real good shape its actually a friend of mine who is selling them, he bought them him and wife rode them twice and they said their too fast and unstable, they sound like fun to me. anyone have any thing to say about them? i know their seadoo's and im gonna hear that they brake easily but are they fun. they kinda remind me of a longer gen 2 blaster. by the way i know nothing about sit downs so im just trying to figure out if i should get em for the cheap price i can. thanks

Never ridden one but always wanted ot try one. Supposedly you can rail turns on them. They are unstable for sitting still too. They are teh ski to have for racing the "sport class" which consists of Wave Blasters, X2's, HX's, and Polaris Hurricanes.

yes they are fun......nothing else handles quite like an hx...and unless the yamaha pilot has something special, the HX was built to be (and is) a blaster killer

if you end up with them...PUt on a factory pipe and a set of 800 (XP) carbs and call it a day..otherwise you'll have a tuning nightmare

Seadoo education time, alright class listen up,The Seadoo is a porsche, the yamaha is a chevy either will get you where you want to go,just one will get you there faster and you will have more fun getting there. The Seadoo maintaince is a little higher and there are some things that break, keep the exhaust bolts tight,if in doubt tighten them some more, run decent oil it it its not a weed eater don't put wally world oil in it.The old black starter solenoids are junk get a brown one you will be much happier, never ever replace a blown fuse with a higher amperage fuse,if the fuse blows their is a reason ,find out why.Replace the gray fuel lines they are junk, replace ever piece of it,they came out when no alcohol was in the fuel, alcohol eats the lines like candy, candy inside the carbs is not a good thing, clean the carbs ,this is not a suggestion this is a must, replace the lines with regular automotive fuel line. The jet pump has oil in it ,change it because the last guy probably didn't and dosen't even know its in there, you do know know so you have no excuse just do it.There is a fuel filter, clean it because the last guy didn't know it had one either. The wear rings are plastic, plastic is good but it dosen't last forever,if it needs one change it.Other than that the 720 Rotax is one of the most reliable watercraft engines ever built enjoy. The 720 is basically a 587-657 on steroids, don't get carried away hopping it it up,bolt ons are ok but do not go past that,it will quickly let you know when you have gone too far.

I meant Yamahas are not picky, you can throw any oil it ,it dosen't care, neglect it ,it will still run, beat the crap out of it and it still keeps on ticking, they don't handle that well without mods, they are not as fast, there are a zillion aftermarket part to hop them up,used parts are plentiful, its definatly the Chevy of the pwc world.

sounds like a toyota to me. :439:

I have a 95 HX. maybe i got lucky and got one that is near undestructable. I finally put a crank in it 2 seasons ago and i rode it just aabout every weekend during the season (sat and sun)since it was brand spankin new in 95.I alos beat the S**T out of it. Mine has had a factory pipe on it since almost new, best mod you can do. I have buddys with B1's i think they are fun but my HX is i think way better and much more powerful. With pipe prop and just a tad more compression and some tuning on flat water mine ran 62 mph on GPS. if you can score a deal they are wayy worth it handle like a dream and you can really jump the hell out of them. Plus they have suspension how can you not buy a watercraft that has suspension hahaha.

I have an HX project in the works,I am installing a 717 for now but it will probably end up running a basically stock 787,should be a rocket.I paid like $200.00 for the complete hull and a couple more bills for the remaining missing parts.

I have owned B1 and HX at the same time. My HX had pipe, Riva carbs, smaller domes, ride plate, impellar, intake. My B1 had pipe, head, reeds, MSD Enhanser, ride plate, intake, impellar. The HX seemed to have more "GRUNT POWER". In the bouy's the B1 seemed way more nimble, the extra length on the HX was hard to get used to.:scared: The HX will get away from you if your spacin off..:crutches: I liked the HX alot!! Everyone else hated it compared to the B1. If you are a bigger human, good luck getting on on open H2O.. The HX with a few bolt'ons is one of the SICKEST watercrafts there is!!! I am always on the lookout for another HX.. I sold it and kept the B1.. Buy them, you won't regret it..

I have 2 and LOVE them. One is stock, and the other has everything. Light hood, 800 motor, reprogrammed ignition, carbon ride plate, drop nozzle, etc. etc. THEY ARE A BLAST TO RIDE.

i miss my hx a lot
it was a fun ride and a blaster killer ( mine stock and the blaster built to the hilt)

anyhow
everything weedoo said is true
also that 717 likes to shake a lot so you really really do have to keep on the exhaust bolts etc and always make sure they are tight.

and anytime you break a part, by two more .

i am 6'0" and over 200 lbs
so being big does not mean you can't ride it, i used to float with the ski off in waves and watch the air show

you just have to get used to how to balance it

but you will love it

my buddy i ride with has one and he can tear my ass even w/ my new motor...720 w/ factory pipe is a beast and that hull cuts chop wayyyyy better then my b1....That ski's the reason i ever got into jetski's. My brother in 95 bought a new one and rode it for quite some time.. kept it way past his 550 and gp...hes looking to get back into it and he will only buy one ski...If i could find one you can bet id grab it

The most popular mods seem to be a factory pipe, bigger carbs off of a stock 787 engine, they bolt right up,a flame arrestor,a better impeller and a stock RFI pump.

I had a stock one back in '96 along with a '96 XP with a few bolt-ons. The HX in stock form was fun to ride, but didn't have near the nuzzats as my XP. I never had a problem with either boat except for the VTS motor going out in the XP, which was common. The HX had the manual trim that was adjustable from the back. Would I buy another? If the price was right...heck yeah.

Anybody have one for sale?

Oh yeah, on a side note, both of them were stolen in '97.
