I have been wanting to weigh my ski for quite some time now, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. Frosty loaned me his new scale, so I could check it against his SJ for some realistic numbers. First I drilled into the rafters and installed a 3/8" eye hook. Then zeroed out the scale with the straps I was going to use. Next I hooked them to my ski and added a side strap stabillizer to keep it from spinning over, because one side is heavier than the other. This is dry weight without fuel and a battery. Well mostly dry, water was coming out when I lifted it up. The battery weighs 14lbs 2 oz, ski weighed in at 380 lbs.
Total weight approx 395 lbs
The hull is completely stock and the glue is uncut with very light reinforcing under the handle pole area. It weighs approx 360 without the hood.

Definitely! Way to heavy, and not a lot can be done about it without going aftermarket. We will see how it does this year and make the call from there. If it aint rollin it's goin!

wow, thats fairly cheap compared to other hulls. Will all my sxr crap bolt on to the hull with out any major mods.

How long does it take to get the hull.

I would advise you to do as much research as possible before spending any money. When it comes to composites you get what you pay for.

Broke down and ordered a hood from Trinity! Thanks Bobby. Team Xtreme now has some Trinity parts to try and destroy. :woot:

This should help me to tip the scales around 369 lbs, I also going to cut some glue when I get the chance. Nose pc and ride plate are going composite as time allows also. I'll re weigh it when it's all done.

I have seen way to may busted Waterdawg parts.... I destroyed a hood in very little time.... I will never buy from there again. bad recomendation IMO... seems like most people still getting WDK parts are getting them because the first hull they got was garbage, and Jeff is building them another for little or no extra cost :ugh2:

After all the weight reduction i weight in my ski this morning & its fu*cking heavy. 380Lbs wet, 4 gallons of fuel. Probably 242 with no fuel & battery Or fire extinguiser. Its got wet foam but im to lazy to refome, maybe next year.

forgot about the fire extinguiser

That is really good, what all did you end up lightening? On the sxr's I really think two part foaming is a bad idea. I should have not done my foot holds.

I removed,
Bondline rails (turfed istead),
Gunwhale caps, (turfed over)
Cut rear bond line for trim( brobably saved 5oz) :)
Went to blowsion internal fuel fill (carbon fibre over the external fill hole)
Cut as much glue out of the engine compartment ( man it freaking sucked)
Cut battery tray bottom out,
Made a custom rear exhaust tube holder (old one weight in at almost 14oz)
Cut off half off the throttle cable bracket off ( went to primer)
Removed the e box bracket & mounted e box to firewall (bracket heavy as hell)+ if you are moving engine back it gives you all of room.
Gutted the stock hood (ended up around 14 lbs) removed all ss hardware, be carefull when you remove the liner, i went all the way thrue the hood :-(, had to pach it & put turft over the hole :)

Didnt touch the engine plate (dont feel safe), might go aluminum save 1-2 pounds

Istalled tdr baffled waterbox
Istalled dales -2 handle pole ( its real nice for the money)

dont you need the 2 part foam to provide some reinforcement for the footholds?

At this point I would say no, as long as they are put in correctly. Look at Trinity's build, no foam at all. The SXR's are thick hulls and have styrofoam, no two part in them. Water is always sloshing around in the rear of the boat, so traditional scuppers and foot holds should not be foamed, in my opinion.
