Bolt size for square nose battery tray?

Same on all years I think they are 6mm bolts with 10mm heads. Should be a pretty common SS bolt available at most hdw stores.

I am not at home and cannot measure one right now, but I think they are about 20mm length if memory serves. Be sure and get some flat washers also.
 
I'm at home but too lazy to measure the lenght, 6mm x 12mm long is the size for all years SJ. Be sure to use a large flat washer under each capscrew head to keep the bat tray from ripping out and use blue loctite this will keep the screws not only tight but will also prevent galvanic corrosion (2 dissimilar metals)

That is a good point, this is why I do not like to use stainless fasteners unless necessary. I will always rob the OEM Yamaha chrome on steel fasteners from an old boat before replacing with SS. The SS on the brass hull inserts is not too bad about corroding but I always use PST with a drop of blue loctite on anything SS. Here is a good article about galvanic corrosion.
