hull would be set up for a 701, what pump would be needed and driveshaft, could new hull use the yam pump, i could take motor, pump, electrics of sn and have a light reliable and fast ski and the most important thing affordable

I'm working in that direction now, just need a drivshaft and yamaha conversion billet coupler and I can see what needs to be done to connect to Kawi pump. Probably no reason to change pumps, unless the whole inlet is reshaped.

hey crab r u going to install the wetjet motor in that one, how many skis can one man own lol
That would be the plan, I have a spare hull to do all mockup but need the shaft and a/m coupler to get the alignment figured out. Got 3 X2's that run, one hull, one RN, Square to be picked up next weekend, and a wetjet hull to get rid of.

if it was me i would be running the kawaski pump and drive shaft. then all that is need to do is either modd the engine coupler or the drive shaft couple so they match
Thats what I thought I was saying....lol.:trink26: The a/m yami coupler has the kawi style rubber so it should just mate up.

I looked at several engine combos when I did mine,I went with the only thing that looked like it would halfway line up and work,The Yami setup is doable but dang it sure is a lot of work.I just couldn't see it plus I had an assload of a/m parts for the 720 doo already here.

The coupler should be easy, and the donor wetjet hull has the motor mounts attached to flat plates that might just bolt down to the kawi perches, well I can hope.........:wizard: Beyond that the rest is easy.

Yeah I was looking at the stock brackets that attach to the engine and it looked way off to me,the wetjet mounting may be quite different from that.

i have motor electrics factory pipe and stuff, and if 24/7 makes the mounting for the 701 would everything line up?? , i want a easy bolt on if that is possible

The new lightweight hull is going to have the engine mounts set up for a yamaha engine but they didn't switch the pump out to run a yamaha driveline? Am I understanding that correctly? Why would they do it like that?

I am thinking because the driveshaft-jet pump works fine as is and its a lot easier to move engine mounts than it is to mock up a whole new driveline.:pokey:

Thats not true, it is going to have a yamaha pump. Let Mark comment on the driveshaft, but I know its not going to be a sj/blaster shaft due to length. Old X2 needs a LONG driveshaft.

Wow... This is quickly extending well beyond the reach of my wallet. I was hoping for a lightweight hull that I could just swap everything from my 750X2 into.. but with the need for a driveshaft, pump and whatever else goes along with it.. WOW!!

thanks shawn i think it would be a great jet ski light, fast, reliable, and affordable, and if the only issue would be driveshaft length, i am sure someone could figure something out, i want a bolt on ski do not want to do any engineering
