Chris Maros' 24-7 Carbon Fiber H20-X Conversion Hood

Well, it's been a long time coming but in the end, it was well worth it! I inquired to Chris Maros quite a while ago after doing some business with him... pre sale of his 24-7 PWC division about a conversion hood... I actually wasn't serious enough about it at the time and moved on. Bout a year later, and had since ridden Tim's 24-7 conversion sj that he had bought... I called Chris outta the blue about some footholds and misc stuff, and he informed me about the pending sale of 24-7 that was going down in two days. Well, I inquired about a hood again and the only one he had left was his own carbon fiber one. We struck a deal and I felt fortunate enough to have scored it.

Chris' own steering system needed some modification as he had found some faults in it so it sat my garage for a while. Tom Rill (Tom21 here on the X)- member of our very own Gulf of Mexico Duckpond/ Westside Massive Ride group and owner of professionaljetskirepair.com finally undertook the job of machining the steering system and proceeded on with the rest of the build from there on out. IT FREGGIN ROCKS!:fing02:

Major thanks to Tom! As the rest of the guys who have joy ridden her can attest... it turned out sweet! Thanks for taking the lead man... you're a master of modification! Job well done! http://professionaljetskirepair.com/

Additional thanks to Danny Riese (flacarandcycleguy here on the X) for the fantastic work and paint job on the hood as well as the "out of warranty touch ups!" From what I can see, and hear for that matter... we have a star in the making!

Also much thanks to fellow local Pat @ Xmetal for the fabrication and welding of the bracket. Good stuff as always Patrick! http://www.xmetalworks.com/

Thanks to Kevin Collins at http://Legdrag.com

And lastly, to Chris Maros for all the R & D and for producing such a fine product! You're a master Innovator!

Wow Reed, that looks great. I've always wanted one of these... will it be in Daytona with the rest of the "Fixed Steering Brigade"? ha ha

pic of the pad you sculpted and the 24-7 footholds, some hood shots before the original stickers went bye-bye, and a completed motor with b-pipe and all the other goodies installed.

it's a bad angle. it's got tubbie 2's.

Reed, I NEED to try out the front foothold. I've got the one I won for the cherry buster finally, I want to test drive yours. :newangel:

absolutely! I think you'll really dig it if you primarily ride surf style. Or even for a change of pace from the footholds. Think you saw how Tom retro'd that very nicely.
