well today the surf was REALLY good here..overhead and clean..huge barrels..i was surfing cause my ski is on the way to daytona and about half way through our session (we were the only guys out) two guys show up on standups..

i have no idea who they are cause ive never seen them out before and thats where i usually ride..

well there was the whole beach to ride including some outside reefs that are unsurfable that are super fun on a ski..

well they decided it would be more fun to ride circles around us for about an hour..they wernt very good but they kept taking off on waves outside of us and almost falling which if they did there skis would have gotten washed right into us and it was pretty big so it wasnt a joke out there...

next time if i see them at the launch spot ill definitly give them an earfull...it sucks cause im always really respectful of guys surfing and dont get in anyones way and i dont want those guys ruining it for me and my buddies...

anyways point is if your riding surf please stay away from anyone in the water..

When guys like that used to show up at oil piers there trailer would be missing when they went to go home,:firedevil::rippedhand: sometimes I understand localism .

i have this issue so often i always stay clear of surfers and swimmers but it drives me up the wall when we get good swell i go all the way up the other end of the beach to the spot where no one is (normally the worst waves on the beach) then some kook on a mal decides he will try and learn on that last bit of crap surf that is about when i loose it

A little something I learned last summer about surfers,Especially when a certain Marine Police officer is a surfer also...If you can see them (the surfers) you're too close. :phone:

A little while ago I got cussed out by a kite surfer who was traversing the surf line taking up the entire beach beach. and one time I was also hugging the jetty when a surfer paddled 100 yards out of his way towards me pinching off my space to ride to force me out. Some surfers still get stoked on it though.

dont get me wrong it sucks when some guy paddles out right on your peak..but if theres an option you gotta steer clear...and yea i think for the most part guys are stoked to see you blasting the lip like they can only dream about....ive never really had anybody try to hassle me before...

Yep it can go both ways like Mike said ,I've had boaters cutting me off when I am keeping a straight line to the point where I have had to turn to stay out of there way.
If I was in a boat I would have just hit them. (Do I suffer from road rage !!! yes)

I have also seen other skiers that have no respect for anyone else

pismo is in california. eventually legislation will be passed banning pwc use within a certain distance from shore. when it happens in "progressive" areas like monterey, its only a matter of time.

too late dude..its already illegal...i think its 300yards from a breaking wave...as long as its not a marine sanctuary i dont think they can do a full ban..wont stop me either way!

I was thinking about this subject just the other day as I was watching some kids ride their dirtbikes near houses and up and down the street in my buddy's neighborhood.

Just like the irresponsible Jetskiers you saw in the surf, these guys will be the first to whine when their riding area is closed down.

I just don't get it . . . . . and I guess I never will, with miles of open dirt and beach why in the hell would you ride right next to where people are ? ! . . . . . .

blow boaters have the right away so in theory the same thing applies to the kite baorders.

at the same time though they do have a little more control than a boat

i surf as well, and feel that it is a respect thing to ones personal space, just as the first 1 on the wave has the right away to that wave
