probably cause there isn't as much current/ wave action to disperse it..

yup... I'm not sure if you were aware, but the gulf is very warm too. Average temp is probably in the upper 80's in the summer... a lovely bacteria soup

Just because it's nice today when the wind is blowing 15mph don't mean squat...

I just know people who have lived over there and had to move back because the air quality was so bad... It's very stagnant and lots of people... That leads to pollusion.

really? I've never really heard any complaints. :dunno:

Extended Forecast & Extra-tropical/pseudo-tropical Wx Discussion/Links
I'll continue to monitor forecast data for the western Atlantic to see if significant cyclogenesis is an option as progressively stronger storm systems push across the southeast, emerging off the mid-Atlantic coastline. Given the progressive nature of the current weather pattern, we are due for a strong Hatteras low to pump a big north swell down the east coast, and this may come together over the relatively warm Gulf Stream waters east of the Carolinas if/when the northern and southern jet streams merge off the mid-Atlantic in the next week or two.
