scratch in gelcoat- Suggestions?

Do it twice?That's DooDoo
I was turfing on of the sides on my ski yesterday, and was making some trimming cuts along the side when my razor blade slipped right down the side. It went through the gelcoat... it is such a thin line I am not sure how to cover it up without it looking dumb. It is about 1.5 inches long. Any suggestions? Any products or methods you guys can turn me onto? Thanks... I don't know that much about paint/gelcoat repair.....

good idea... but its right by the hydroturf, so that wouldnt look right.

I just wanted to touch it up... I have seen gelcoat repair kits, but not sure if they are really worth anything... like most people said- I shouldnt worry about it, but I figured i might try one of those repair kits if it they actually work good. The scratch goes all the way through the gelcoat, so I didnt know if it would start cracking/peeling or something if I didnt fix it.

dude i got a brand new sj in 06 the first time i rode it my old lady parked her fricken couch next to it on shore and didnt pull it up far enought and the waves came and washed that thing into my brand new sj im talkin 4 hours after i picked it up from the dealer i was frickin irrate it took out the whole frickin side of my damn ski it was bad
like a 4 inch wide the length of my ski scratch just cover it with some stickers

yeah... Im over anal about stuff... I will put a sticker on it... maybe a smiley face :)... I dont think the scratches I got are big enough to even warrent a sticker... I would put a sticker over it if it was in a better spot, but the scratch is right under the turf on the outside... not a good spot for a sticker. I will just live with the scratch cuz I'm sure I will get 100 more just like everyone said... for the most part I was just pissed off since I slipped with the razor blade and it was my own stupid fault...

thats it!:17:
wet sand that puppy for 100s of hours
with finer and finer grit until you get to polishing compound
Then spray it with high dollar paint and clearcoat.
this is the excuse you have been waiting for!!!!!!

You lost me man.... I was just going to use the "hello kitty" bandaid idea... nah I know I can fix it... question is just do I really want to... most guys have a good point that I will be getting more scratches than I know what to do with in the next few years... I should just learn to deal with them.

I dont think its embarassing..... I have been modding a brand new ski... I made a scratch in it while trying to be really careful cutting my turf....

I already said I would deal with it....

also, if I did it while riding I would care less... it was just the way it happened that pissed me off and made me want to fix it
