Yes it would be possible to refoam only the bottom I usually leave the foam just above the bond line anyways. Do you have a scupper? Now would be the time.

If you are doing drains you will need access to the back of the ski, one side you can pull the exhaust pipe out on the other side you can go through the new scupper hole.

No two part foam on the bottom only on top of the Dow foam I have always had the holds out or installing holds but you will be able to do it with them in no problem
HOLY CRUD......... man did you cut the tray out.mfg:

Wow... thats awesome... I have never seen one cut open that much. Is it easy to reinforce it back to original strength or better?
What I meant was that since I would be removing the 2 part foam only on the bottom I imagine that I would have a gap in-between the existing 2 part foam and the new poly foam. I would then fill that gap with a little 2 part foam perhaps? not sure how I would get it to fill the whole gap though.... or if that would even be necessary... maybe it's better to have a gap?
How much water has come out before when you have opened those drain plugs?
Mark. Have you ever thought about just taking out all the foam on the bottom and throwing in as many ping pong balls that could possibly cram in there? That would be a GREAT drainage system to the drains in the back...
still wondering about how much water you see when you pull out those plugs too...
Frosty, you plan on just putting the original pieces of hull back on with epoxy and then putting 2 or 3 layers of 1208 or something in the tray and up the sides??
I will do just that... first a layer covering the seam about 2" wide. then a larger layer to tie it all together. And like i said, since i will be custom cutting foam to fit as tight as possible it will provide me with the structural support I am looking for in the high stress tray area.
Sweet we will need pics please.:fing02:
