I rode last weekend. 50 air and about 40 degree water, I think colder. My brothers ski died....my balls literally froze. I had to push him from the Canadian side to the American side......never again.

40 degree water is friggin COLD man!!!!!

Nick mid 40's WTF...I didn't even bring a wetsuit! I will see you guys around 11 on Sat...early AM is out haha

And for sure I will not be missing the biggest event of the year, and there are a ton of West coast guys headed for the Daytona Freeride this year.

As far as Canda goes I will be headed here http://www.bigpacific.com/whattodo/viewtides.html to ride this standing wave for Rick Pierce who is shooting for his new video (Coastal Rage 2?) which should be out before christmas. And I can't imagine how cold it will be up there...I honestly don't know how you guys do it. I just ordered a 4/3 from JetPilot cause that is the thickest they have...but this Floridian/So Cal transplant has never owned more than a 3/2. I will run some warmers up the handle pole, but I guess I should restrict the cooling as well huh?

Do you cold water guys restrict the cooling when it gets cold, or does it not make that much difference.

Aww crap I'm gonna freeze...but it will be fun!

Gettin on the plane now for FL...talk to you guys later

Booties with 2mm socks inside, good 3mm gloves, and a 2mm hood inside your helmet makes a huge difference in cold water. The gloves take a little to get use to, but beats freezing. Tour coat helps also.

And potentially dangerous. .
This is no joke. We weren't expecting to have problems, just a day of carving the flatwater....then my brother tried a roll off of my wake :poke: haha. We went right to shore. We waited until we warmed up then went back to the launch.

My brother has one of his end caps off of his grips so the excess water runs out the bars and they dont get too hot. This way there is no water restriction anywhere and your hands still stay warm

And potentially dangerous. It was 50/50 here on Sunday, even in a drysuit the feet/hands/face take a beating.

We rode last weekend 45-50* air 70*-90* water :nana:
