Got some ideas after my last batch of tweaks...

I like how my ski rides short and wide. Now I'm going shorter.I had Legdragger's shot sn that I'm using the bottom from. Cut 2in. out from in front of the pump and move the pump & inlet towards the bulkhead. Then cut the flat area out of the bottom from in front of the bulkhead & to the nose then moved that back 6in. I'm still cutting some off the tail. This should leave me with a ski that's @ 1ft. shorter.

Flash-FX

No Square..No Round..FX-1
Looks good there...You should have tried my FX last weekend after I swapped out ride plate and grate. Real squirrelly. I need wider/longer tubs.

Hope this weather/surf holds out!.....It's been good.

WTF? Joe, you're crazy. Looks like a fun and frustrating project is ahead!

I'm not looking forward to the glass work. I'm going for quick & sloppy & if I like it I'll mold it.

interesting - does that now entail having to run a shortened intermediate shaft?

I went with 2in to use a shaft for the FX1. That also puts the hardware for the intake grate against the bulkhead. Any more & those mounts would end up in the motor comparment.

Did some more de-reinforcing & temporarily attached the middle back. Need to trim some then I'll have to reshape & replace @ 2ft of the nose. Next I need to cut the bottom off a FX1 I have to see what needs to make it fit.

What he's not telling you all is that he's putting an FX-1 top on the modified superjet bottom...too cool

Joe doesn't think outside the box, he takes a sawzall to the box! I can't wait to ride the thing ;)

I'm good at tearing things apart:bigok:
It's putting things back together I have problems with:smokin:

Cut the bottom off the FX1 & did some bulkhead trimming on the SJ bottom & the fit is pretty close. Now I've got a few things to consider & figure out where to start. I'm planing on lowering the pole mount & using sj bracket. I'll need to do that befor attaching the bottom.

Hmmm.....cool. I thought you were going to split it at the rail. I never thought of joining them at the lower corner.....that's a cool idea!

Yup... After I glass the bottom in I'm going to add foam to the outside rail & shape that then I'll add more glass over that. Glass will be 2 walls thick on the edge.

Started working on my pole mount today. I'm moving the pole piviot down @ 4in. & back @ 6in. I'm thinking that moving it back will help to make the ski feel smaller & make it more responsive. I'm using a XFT sj pole bracket & it turns out that the nose peice will follow lines I can work with so I'm using that too. Need to fill some holes with foam then start shaping. After a few layers of glass to mantain a shape I'll remove the foam from the backside then lay more glass.

Awesome. Is there going to be room for everything under the hood?

Should be... Trying to move gas tank & waterbox towards the motor & I'm using a small gas tank. I might have to look for a small waterbox. Not sure what I doing with my pipe. I'm either going to shorten a sj mod chamber or maybe a blaster mod.

Some fun with foam this morning:fing02:

I'm going to end up making a new hood to follow these lines...
