To Tubbie or not to Tubbie?

I forgot!
Since you said everything I'm assuming you also mean racing. Ever see a Sj out there racing competitively without tubbies? Its hard enough to find SJs competing WITH tubbies since it still is no match to an sxr/hs/octane

Like what was said aboe, there are two types of superjets. Superjets with tubbies, and superjets that need tubbies.

everything freestyle. sorry, its all preference, i just don't see the need for flatwater freestyle. surf, yeah, racing yup, freestyle tricks, why?

has the handling improvement made your flatwater tricks any better? or just your riding input lazier? i can't see how you would need to rail the corner for that setup wake. like kahuna said you don't see anyone competing with them because for flatwater tricks the superjet already handlerperfect for everything. just imo, each to there own.

I can't say it has made tricks better, but I can def. say it has not made them worse.
The ski carves much better and is more stable coming across waves/wakes and does not nosedive.

I don't think it's being lazy at all. If better handling is being lazy, why don't we ride 650 SX? :haha:

TO clarify: It's not needed for flatwater freestyle, not at all. It provides no benefit for that purpose, so why add 4lbs and spend 300 bucks.
However, my main mode of riding is chasing boats, ripping around, carving, and freestyle wherever it fits in (mostly chasing boats & wakes).
For that riding, Tubbies are extremely beneficial

And yes, JMHO.

LOL....ouch.

But no, that's not it. My freshly refoamed, sort of lightweight square with Tubbies handles extremely nice, too.

lol, i had tubbies on the ol sxi, i did make my high speed corners more predictable and stable, i haven't really had much problems in waves of nosing in on any ski i have had but i don't ride in the ocean, just the great lakes so maybe its a saltwater thing which i thought mad ski more bouyant (sp) anyways so who knows, $300 dollars i will never spend again for that type of mod, i would rather get some porting or.....whatever. again JMSHP..just my stupid humble preference. :loser:

Yes, all personal preference.
However, with my limited 3 years riding experience on several Superjets, I honestly do feel that Tubbies are on of the best all around mods to do.
They go on all my skis, now and future.

i have some taiwan knockoffs and i love them. wish i would have put them on sooner
where did you get them and how much did they cost.
I nosed in on the surf on thursday, i was glad i was wearing a helmet. I smashed into my pole, then hit the ground with my head and had teh ski get slammed on teh back of my head. I held onto the bars the whole time. Wishing i had tubbies already.

tubbies = adding training wheels, sponsons, and front buoyancy to your ski..... plus in every aspect........... :thewave:
