To Tubbie or not to Tubbie?

Okay, people that have a fair amount of experience riding skis with and without Tubbies please give me your opinion.
I am building a RN for surf and flat water.
Are there any negatives for freestyle and freeride?

personally, they absolutly suck for flat water, you dont see anybody that competes with them........

that said, in the surf or really rough choppy water, yeah, they are good.

I want some tubbies! I nosed in hard on thursday on the face of a waves and hit bottom, not hard but enough to make me say, "I want tubbies"

I just don't want to pay the price they ask. Mark (thong_bandit) and i are talking of making our own off a template or from some real tubbies. It would be poor man's tubbies. :cheer2:

I don't compete, but I love them for flat and surf. I don't know why you say they suck.

Exactly what is it that sucks about them on flat? :dunno:
Seriously....I keep seeing you say that, but I'd like to know what exactly it is that makes them bad for flat. I've had them on for over a year now, and I can't think of a single thing that's bad about them for flatwater freestyle, but I am probably missing something or not thinking of something.

has the handling improvement made your flatwater tricks any better? or just your riding input lazier? i can't see how you would need to rail the corner for that setup wake. like kahuna said you don't see anyone competing with them because for flatwater tricks the superjet already handles perfect for everything. just imo, each to there own.

Since you said everything I'm assuming you also mean racing. Ever see a Sj out there racing competitively without tubbies? Its hard enough to find SJs competing WITH tubbies since it still is no match to an sxr/hs/octane

Like what was said aboe, there are two types of superjets. Superjets with tubbies, and superjets that need tubbies.
