Thinking about a new impellor for the SXR. Does an aftermarket prop make a big difference on a SXR? Here is my setup:

Wet pipe.
Lightenened flywheel.
D Cut Rideplate
Stock intake Grate (I won't put one on. I like the ski to slide a little..makes it more nimble)
Bored nozzle.

I am mostly looking for low end snap... What are you guys running?

I'm running the Solas 13/21 5mm cut back prop modified by Impros, with an 82mm venturi and 85mm nozzle. It works great especially now with the new R&D large diameter pump cone. The TBM looks like it's a better set up though.

Yup, Skat cut back. In the surf, if you pump isn't hooking up your not moving.
Maybe you get away with the stocker if your riding lakes or flatwater.
I started off season running stock prop, 80 nozzle, wetwolf cone and worx grate. Switched to the skat grate and prop, TBM cone with the 80 nozzle and it's like a whole new boat. Only lost 80rpms. I let one of my boys ride it the otherday and he couldn't believe how it pulled off the bottom. I might try a little bigger nozzle but it might make cavitate.

Most of the limited boats are now running 82mm/ 85mm set ups from what I hear, with a large hub pump. Mine hooks up great in the surf and flat water, No cavitation at all.

I have been running a similar setup in the X2 with my sxr prop and 84mm X2 nozzle and stock cone with no sign of cavitation. It does however rip to full speed and rpm very quickly. I have not switched to the TBM hub yet, it has a lot more speed with the 80mm nozzle, but I could care less.

Do you know what rpms your pulling?
I just picked up a skat 82mm nozzle and have a PJS ripturn 85mm nozzle to test. The last 3 weekends have had good surf so I didn't feel like trying anything new
