with the full auto bilge pump you don't really need a switch just a disconnect at the battery

but if you wnated to put on ein check out jet ski solutions

I had one in the past that had an "auto" feature, it would cycle on every minute or so and if it didn't sense any resistance (ie. it wasn't pumping water) it would shut off.

Those kind work OK, but I prefer to make SURE it is on as soon as I come up from a nose-stab/sub etc. I've gone to just switching on the bilge when I start riding and keep it one 100% of the time. Motors don't burn up, it will always be pumping when you need it.

If that auto bilge has a float switch I wouldn't recommend it. With all the bouncing a ski does those swtiches would be constantly flopping around on/off.

Next time I replace my switch (currently a pole-mounted on/off) I will get the JetSkiSoulutions one. He has a sensor that detects flow in the cooling lines and turns the pump on whenever the motor is on, and off when you kill the motor (also can override with normal on/off). With his switch you don't have to worry about leaving the pump running and draining your battery.

call me cheap, but $24-$34.00 for a switch is just too much. I could see $8-$12.00 for a switch tops, but ouch, $24.00 is just insane.

Multiply that by 2-3 standups and you can get upwards of $100.00 with shipping for just 3 switches. I see someone else has them for $20.00 shipped but thats still a lot of money imho.

Then again, im a cheapass who rides 650 sx's....and im still looking for a cheaper alternative :scratchchin:

Great.......spend $5 on a switch......and let them keep going out over and over again. You may have a smaller initial investment.but you'll be replacing them often and spending more money.

$20 shipped for a switch is wonderfull deal. You guys gotta remember these are waterproof and tough, not your run of the mill walmart/lowes product

and as ive said in the past. I hate those auto bilge pumps. Why pay extra money for a pump that checks every so often for water.....buy two cheaper pumps...flip a switch when you get on the water...flip them off when your resting/quitting.

i picked up a water proof switch at boaters world for around 15$. Its workerd great for 2 years now.

Hmmm.... not sure if I like that. At first it seemed like a cool idea, but I like the idea of my ski floating whether or not the motor is running - especially in surf.... My switch is a fuse: I just pop it in and out and replacements cost next to nothing from Wal Mart or an auto parts store. I sometimes get a little buzz pulling the fuse out in salt water, but that just saves money on Redbull! (I ride mostly fresh, so it isn't a big deal.)
