stroker piston ??

So I'm building(tring to build)a Lamey?DASA 5mil PV stroker and so far nothing but problems, inaccurate machining and loooong delays..Any-way today im tring to assemble the top end AGAIN!!! and have found out that the pistons are hitting the crank--yes, the crank on the down stroke, and thus it will not allow the crank to rotate....So the pistons I have are brand new weisco's FROM DASA/Racers Edge they are 85mm flat-tops and are 79mm long(top dome edge to bottom skirt)...However I have a set of used 85mm flat-tops that were also purchased from DASA 2 years ago for a standard stroke and they are only 72mm long....So what the "F" is the problem now are stroker pistons longer than standard flat-top pistions????

You'll have to machine the piston skirts to clear. Alot of work are required to build these monsters

Here's the Kawasaki flat top piston trim template for use with the Yamaha crankshaft. It's taken from a Riva flat top or R&D Dominator piston. If you print it out on a piece of 11" long paper the template diagram should be 10-1/2" for an 85mm piston. Line the seams up with the arrow on the piston top or the in the middle of the exhaust side skirt. You will need to trim the edges off both piston skirts front and rear. Also here's a picture of what the template should look like installed on an untrimmed Kawasaki flat top piston.

I Greatly Appreciate all the help guys, the template thing is GREAT but I'm using R&D/Riva flat-tops which are supposedly for this application...So DASA/Racers Edge sent me out a new set of Weisco pistons that are a few mm shorter and a totally different style piston than the Riva boxed units that started this mess AND the Friggin new shorter pistons still hit the crank and the sided of the cases FUUUUUK!!! So now I have 3/three sets of flat-top pistons and none of them fit properly....However I have a set of OEM Yamaha domed pistons that fit with NO Problem at all....SO WHY THE "F" would anybody EVER want to run/use flat-top pieces of crap..............Like I've always said Flat-tops SUCK and OEM/Pro-X is the real king....NO EXCEPTIONS

Man I gotta tell ya Jeff, I'm really starting to see the HUGE & MANY advantages one would have running a GP 800 with all the WDK goodies..Originally I thought, Oh! no big deal a 5 mil Lamey Stroker should be easy, after all its the baby stroker, the mildest stroker...Man-O-Man what a pain in the AZZ. A GP 800 WDK would have been alot easier:buttkick:

Most +5mm strokers use the stock 125mm long rod...+8mm and up stroker cranks use the kawasaki 133 mm rod and that helps a lot with piston clearance @BDC.

So do the 133mm Kawasaki rods use the small pin or big pin pistons? (My pivot pin is 20mm...). I've got to order up some pistons and will have to modify them as well before installation. Thanks for the template #0!

Just found out the small pin Kawasaki motors use the 20mm pin. I've got 134mm rods on my 8mm stroker, so I might not need to machine the skirts...
