Tubbie II's altered to be Tubbie I's?????

Wydopen and I have been talking tubbies... I purchased a set of II's a while back and have yet to install them... Of course everybody has their opinion on which is better for surf riding, but opinions on which is superior aside... could a set of Tubbie II's be altered to be just like Tubbie I's... ie filling in that lip and rounding them out???

The 2's are great. Don't round them out. Even for freeride.

before everyone tells him to run the 2s i spent a full day on my backup ski with 2s in decent surf...ive been riding 1s for about 6months and love them...i really was paying attention the the differences in the two as im getting another set for my new ski and wanted to know which ones i wanted


my complaints with the 2s are:

they dont seem to have as much float

when the wave gets steep the nose holds the wave too good and it tries to suck your nose over the falls

when you do a slash on a steep part of the wave they dont break loose and you cant round off a sliding turn like you can with 1s..too edgy

also they seem to hook up too much and ypou cant ride as relaxed as with the 1s

my style is 100% surf..i try to turn as much as i can off breaking sections and the only time i jump is back into the wave..personally i think they would eb great on the race course but not in the surf

Yep... No problem. Some filler & glass & make whatever you want:cool2:

Yep... I just looked & they are @ 1 in. narrower. Add more filler:biggrin:

II's are narrower and have a channel or extra chine

Sorry, Oxnard. Didn't mean to give you an opinionated answer. but yes you could fill them that concave in if you wanted.

Better yet, it you want to trade for your II's for the orginals tubbie we'll do it.
