Question for Blaster Owners

I'm curious for you blaster owners....I know there are a lot of you around here, even if it's only a secondary ski....

How many are just using the HT turf kit to put turf on your blasters?

Are any of you turfing the rails? Leaving stock "mats" on?

Just trying to get a feel for how others are turfing them up.

This thing is a cloud. There is padding under the rear tray and feet trays, as well as the rails from the back to the front of the tray area.

It's 5 pieces of turf to cover basically every area you might ever put your feet.

It's shin-gina protection, protection from bruised shins and the ever nagging bruised heel (which I'm suffering from right now - from riding someones blaster w/ just one layer of turf). Not to mention, traction for ALL riding stances.

Much like riding a superjet w/ padding, you never want to ride another blaster without it. Once you go padded....you can't go back.

i've got the s/j tray pad under the rear deck which works great. when the front starts to wear, i'm going to do the rails and all like what you got. looks sweet!! the pad works great but i keep having to reglue it from time to time. no big deal.

wow, that is one slick turf job!

Thank you....it wasn't really that tough of an install, and I think I have a very useful template setup for turfing like this.

That looks great....except your diamonds are in the wrong direction:Banane01::Banane01:

I'm a front to back diamond kinda guy

you have trouble with the padding?? Mine sticks great. The trick though is to not bring any padding to the edges where the turf meets the ski. Padding likes to tear, so if you bring the edges of the padding in slightly, it will adhere great.

i use the precut kit from jettrim, it covers the tops and insides of the rails as well as under the seat. the only thing they don't pre make is the rear platform plastic cover pieces, i just cut my own out. they have pretty indestructible foam rubber like ht but much stronger. i can wear a hole in ht in about 10 races, my jettrim mats are holding up good after 2 years.

I'm not familiar with the jettrim kit.....I had no idea it covered the rails. Can I see a picture?

it is not a good pic, it is the boat behind the main one in the pic. that paticular ski's mat kit is 2 years old, and i removed it from a race boat and transfered it to that ski. it is that durable, you can remove it and reuse it.

you can't see it but it covers the top and inside of the rails.

yes very similar to hydro turf only more dense, comes in pebble style or diamond style. you have to ask for it, they don't show it on there site.
