Call Pat at X-Metal, I know he makes a bracket for his X-Metal pole that is designed for the SN. I have the whole setup here and it will definitely allow for full extension on the SN. I am not sure how his bracket will work with a stock RN pole. Pat can tell you all you need to know.

I have seen a couple of the local guys around here try and make them work using the stock bracket. One milled the bracket base on an angle to allow the pole to fully extend. IMO this weakens the bracket and I would not recommend it. The other modified the cast bottom of the pole itself to allow for full extension. You have to do something or else the pole will only go about half way up when mounted on the SN hull. Call X-Metal, Pat is a super nice guy and he will have a solution for you..

The XMW SN bracket has the hood hook keepers welded onto the outer edges of the uprights. All that you have to do is move the hood hooks wider out on the hood and re-drill the plate mounting holes in the hull. It also comes with a nice aluminum backing plate. XMW is the shizibizzle when it comes to quality workmanship.

thanks that is what i was looking for i will be picking up the hull the comeing weekend so ill be starting the build as soon as i get it.

Just bolted my FX1 pole onto the Square this weekend with an XMW Roundnose bracket.

What rubber bump stop? :confused:

I ground the stops on the bracket a bit, and I ground the bottom of the pole a bit. Now I get full travel.

The rubber bump stop is on a stock roundnose bracket. I doubt aftermarket brackets use them. I've put a round pole and bracket on my square, and I'm currently using a roundpole with the square bracket. You can just use washers, and grind the end of the pole a little bit if you want to use the square bracket.

About how many estimated degrees of travel from the resting position would you say the pole moves when mounting a stock round nose bracket and stock round nose pole to a square hull that have not been modified what so ever?

I have a stock round bracket, and will have my stock round pole off my ski soon, and am thinking about doing this conversion.

I guess my memory deceives me. I know my buddy has an FX pole on his SN and I can't ride it because the pole doesn't come up past 45 degrees. It's killer on my back.
