I rode for the first time in the surf this weekend and it was also my first contest.
-The surf is fun but i prefer flatwater
-You go very big off little waves
-Dont fall
-Dont start your ski in shallow water
-Your cannot bust through a chest high wave while its breaking. YOu get knocked the F off!
-Riding at dead low tide blows. You hit the bottom.
-Riding next to Ratti and Stoyer in the surf is super cool.
-No Handers are alot of fun
-Stoyer is a crazy ass driver. But his car is super cool.
-Bas, the canadian dude is also super cool and has wicked nice hat:biggrin:

O and does and body know Jeff Lutger's (sp?) phone number or email addy? I need to get him to send me some pics of his RN for sale.

-Dont fall

you can fall, just dont let go

-Dont start your ski in shallow water

that goes for anywhere

Its a nice change but i wouldnt want to ride it everyday or 90% of the time i went it rode.

once you get more comfortable you will like it....i hate doing flatwater tricks...when i HAVE to ride flatwater i just go fast and carve....shredding waves is alot more fun than jumping waves imo....once you can lay down a nice power carve under the lip you will be hooked...

I have become a surf snob. If the surf isn't at leas 3-4 ft, I won't even ride. I think if I was land locked I would sell my skis.:cool2:

me too only diff is we have to settle for 2ft sometimes or i would hardly ever ride:cheer:

You coastal boys are spoiled. We drive 5-6 hours to get Gulf surf and are glad to get that. Don't worry Corey, you'll get hooked like the rest of us and spend the rest of your time planning all your vacation days around surf trips! :purr:

Corey did a hell of a job this weekend...not only riding in surf for the first time but also competing...i hope to see him entering more events this year and next...

and the surf for the first round was no joke...solid chest high with some head to slightly overhead sets sneaking through...

personally i think we need more people like corey to man up and come compete...i mean, c'mon, there was a guy trying to do freestyle on an xp yesterday...ya gotta love that...:woot:

Chris, the next comp you can definitely count me in! I am out of money until June 11 (my next paycheck). Oh and my handle pole decided to break in half

By the way, Nice job Corey! That takes major gusto to compete in the surf, and it was your first time!:bigeyes:
