This was an area of debate at the ride. It looks like the glass was carelessly placed on the top of the tray, then it was foamed and that created a bubble in the middle of the tray. That is achually part of the bottom deck. There is extra space added to the pump shoe area so you can run the big 155mm pump for the 1200cc motor. I doubt that I will ever use it but non the less the boat is all set up to accept that power plant.

My first REV hull (the red one) was a mere 48 pounds with hood, and you would not want it. It is very light and will only last one season. I only recommend it for competition level where you need every advantage. I am not sure of the exact weight of RiverRat's hull and hood but it is light. The hull needs to be weighed on a very nice and accurate scale to be sure. Also, I have spoken with him quite a bit since he got the hull and he is very excited about it. There are a couple of issues that he was concerned about, and we will work them out.
The bottom line is this. He will be a very pleased, and happy customer in the end. If there are problems in the future with his hull and he feels like he didn't get what he paid for, then simply put, I will build him new one at no charge. Keep in mind this is the first X-Jet of its kind (prepreg top and wet laid bottom). I am anxious to watch this build unfold and get some feedback from him about the hull. It will only make things better for the future customer.

Any new pics, Hunter?

Of course

I installed the pump shoe earlier in the week. The 5200 still needs anouther 2-3 days to fully cure. It also went under the knife today  No more wings!! They were growing on me a little bit but I wanted a sleeker looking hull so, in sticking to the original plan they had to go. Also started to remove the lip off the rear of the boat to give more room for the trim and keep the drag down when attempting a flatwater backflip :purr:

I have been riding my friends boat w/ my motor in it. I have done some tunning and have it hitting better on the low end now. Jeff got the poles back from the welder on Friday, so I should have that by the end of the week. Still have quite a bit of work to do to get this thing ready for the water. Plan to start turfing on Tuesday. Over all the hull is not as light as I would have liked. It was filled w/ 4lb foam and the hood weight in at 13.3lbs. By using 2lb foam and a prepreg hood the weight could have been reduced by anouther 14-17lbs. If I fabricated a Stainless bracket to replace the billit bracket I bet anouther 4lbs could be saved. I feel there is still anouther 20-25lbs that could have been saved on this hull

I just want to hit the water at this point. The motor is hitting hard, pump w/ TBM is hooking hard and once I do the straight pull on the Virgin Waterworks trim it will have a solid 35 degrees of throw...........................:purr: I admit that I have been doing some trailer surfing on this hull. I am really feeling the placement of the footholds and low feel of the hull. Looking down at the hull beneith you it really feels small. Should perform well

It could have been lighter. 4lb foam was used instead of 2lbs foam. That is an additional 8-12lbs right there. I have debated defoaming and replacing the foam w/ 2lb foam, but that decision was not my fault so I am not defoaming it. Jeff offered to make me a new hull if this one is not up to snuff.......it may come to that. I have to spend quite a bit of my time removing the side wings and then leveling the rails, the hood is 2x what it should have weighed if it were prepreg, 4lb foam on a flatwater hull instead of 2lb, I had to do the finishing buffing, scupper not in the location I specified...ect. It is still a kick a$$ hull but why spend the extra $$ on prepreg and aluminum core if you just add that weight back in other areas? This hull is really not much lighter than a all wetlaid X-jet.

But it is still almost 50lbs lighter than my hull last year. Feels allot better also.....very low and tight hull

Glassing and sanding..........still more sanding to do but the wings are gone!!! I need to add some filler where the glue has been ground down, then re-level the under rails and taper the edges for a smooth finish. Might get around to turfing this week  and then I will start assembling the boat :purr:

I am sorry, but this is getting rediculous........... always an excuse

I have not talked to him about this yet. He told me it shipped on Tuesday................if it did not I will be pissed and I'll cancel the order right on the spot if that is the case. I am not cool with being lied too...... :bs2:

I'll do a RRP instead............I just want to hit the water now! I want to practice and do a couple competitions this year
