Twist throttle

Has anyone tried to fit a twist throttle onto their SJ. I know it can be done Ive seen parts i can order to make it work for pretty cheap. Wondering if anyone else has tried it and how they like it.

The general consensus is that it would be a bad thing.
Skis have a greater range of handlebar motion than a bike....you wrist would not do very well holding the throttle in one position over that range.

I've often thought about using a twist throttle for a trim system but when you see a big wave approaching you don't want your hands to come lose from the grips.

i dont think the reason its not used is because its hard to use from side to side, the reason i think triggers are used for opening the throttle fast.
idk i would like to try it!

I think it would be better and easier to get the throttle where you want it. I have a tendency to hit the throttle more than i want because it starts to accelerate real hard. Theres been countless times where im on the hood and hit the throttle and it starts to take off and i start to slide a bit and then end up hitting the throttle more. End up battered and smashed over the back of the ski.

I think I like that idea. How about you be the test subject and take pics and give full report

Im going to do it and all of you will see how awesome it is. You have alot more throttle control. Your finger is alot more touchy then you entire wrist. Youll be able to braaaap it just where you want. Not to mention after a long day at the lake I feel like i have carpal tunnel form pulling the trigger all day.

I really want to know how this turns out. get some pics and do a write up on how you put it all together. let us know how much it costs too. the only issue would be the parts rusting.

who uses partial throttle anyway? I'm usually putting around at 1/8 throttle, and full throttle when I'm turning or jumping or whatever...

I've never been a fan of twist throttles. I always wanted a thumb throttle on my dirt bikes. But, I'm wierd.

If it works out for ya - cool! Custom skis are all about making the perfect machine for yourself.

Go for it,I personaly dont see it working that great,as you twist the bars when doing a trick like a stab, your not going to be able to keep the throttle at the same amount as the handlepole is going up and down. Good luck with this one if it works cool, but I wouldnt spend alot of money on it. What about doin hoodtricks, fountains, monkeyjumps and more??

I think it would make doing tricks easier. And having the bars turn is not a problem. As proven through dirtbike atv motorcyle and all other applications. It wont be expensive. I get dealer pricing.

don't see how it would be more effective than a finger throttle, but it's your ski to experiment w/....

I have always loved the yamaha twist trim... I have always said someone should integrate that into a big throw trim system
