im 6'2 long arms how much should i shorten pole?

99 jet, im 6'2 195lbs, i was thinking about putting UMI 0 degree bars with UMI steering plate. I was gonna cut about 2" but seems like most people do about 2 or 3" and majority are under 6 feet so im wondering about going 4". tall guys here what do you run?

6'4" here too...

I was thinking about just running the shortened turn plate, and 0degree straight bar...

well the shortened plate gives you only about what 1" ? and 0 degree bars about 2" ?? so you got about 3" off there, but is that enough for us tall goons?

im running minus 6 pole and about to go another -2 turnplate from WD

edit: oh yea and im 6'2"

not a stock pole tho? whats the most you can go on a stock pole without the pole looking all funky and retarted? oh yea dont you have to set up steering after you shorten the pole i didnt even think about that

Im at -5" pole, and -2.5" steering system,,,, Im 6'1" and have tried everything from stock to -2.5, -4.5, -6.5, and now at -7.5.... its perfect for me!.... I have my footholds a little more further then most though as well.

I would go at least -5" overall!

I'm 6'4" and have about -6 or -7 total, I think me taking off 4" bon the bottom of my pole was a little much, kinda made the curve that the pole has too far forward. In retrospect I think I would have tried shortening some at the top too.
(someone correct me if it's a bad idea) Oh, i have the RN pole on a square, so the lines might be different.

yea im wondering how it would look on a RN if you cut to much off on the bottom. at least ill do 3 on the pole at most ill do 4, plus the 0 degree bars so that will put me in about 5-6 off

I don't think height matters. long arms = long legs. you can't touch your toes any better when you are taller.
I can put my palms flat on the floor with my legs straight.

So if I need a -4" pole, should I take 2" from each side? I already have 0* bars.

EDIT:
What offset plates are you guys running?

^^^^ Do your bars hit your diablo hood at full turn with the pole down?

nope

had to adjust the umi throttle up a lil more than i like but i usually like it almost pointing down but you can see its not that bad
